President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah has sent a message of motivation and encouragement to the Ghana National Boxing Team who are in Bangkok, Thailand for the World Qualifiers towards the 2024 Olympic Games.
He said though it has not been easy for the boxers going from Senegal to Italy and now in Thailand he believes their toils and hard work will not be in vein.
He urged them to be obedient and respect their coaches and focus on the qualification.
According to Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah, Ghana can not go to the 2024 Olympic Games without Boxing which has over the years given the nation hope and glory.
He advised the technical team to plan strategies that will produce results for the Black Bombers.
The leadership of the United Boxing Coaches Association of Ghana (UBCAG) has also wished Team Ghana all to best.
Vice President Lawrence Carl Lokko said they are capable as Ghanaians and they should be determined to win every bout.
Yours Truly, representing the media also wished the Black Bombers success in Bangkok.
The seven boxers, six male and one female are Flyweight Theo Allotey, Featherweight Amadu Mohammed, Light Welterweight Joseph Commey, Light Middleweight Henry Malm, Light Heavyweight Jonathan Tetteh, UK based Super Heavyweight Mark Kodjovi Ahondjo and USA based Middleweight Onella Sathoud.
The five man technical staff is led by experienced Coach Dr. Ofori Asare with his two able assistants,Vincent Akai Nettey and Elvis Robertson, Edward Kwabena Asante, Team Doctor, and Daniel Quartey, Physiotherapist.
Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation, Mr. Dauda Fuseni is leader of the team in their final quest for seven of the 51 slots.
