Cyril Tetteh Laryea, a former Greater Accra Regional Deputy Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), widely known as “Humble Lion,” has issued a strong warning to outgoing officials accused of looting resources and diverting startup kits and tools meant for beneficiaries.

As part of the NDC’s Reset Ghana Agenda under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, Humble Lion emphasized that any YEA official found guilty of mismanaging state resources will face legal consequences.

“We are going to jail all of them. The NDC will reset the YEA Agency, and any official culpable of plundering state resources will be held accountable and jailed,” he declared.

He was speaking in an exclusive interview with AMAGHANA ONLINE.

Resource Mismanagement

Humble Lion assured that the next NDC government will restore fairness and correct political injustices meted out to YEA staff during the NPP administration.

Laryea alleged that the YEA-Zoomlion module was plagued by unfair treatment of core workers.

Reckless Distribution of Resources

Laryea accused some regional YEA directors of allowing political manipulation by diverting essential tools and materials meant for entrepreneurs to support NPP campaign activities.

He alleged that items like hairdryers, meant to empower businesses, were distributed freely to influence voters during elections.

“These resources were recklessly shared for votes without considering the businesses and individuals the agency is supposed to support. This must stop,” he said.

Assuring Fairness for Targeted Staff

Humble Lion called on core YEA staff to remain calm, assuring that those who suffered unfair treatment or political victimization under the NPP administration would receive justice.

“We will give all unfairly treated staff a second chance. The political wrongs unleashed on targeted employees will be corrected under the Reset Ghana Agenda,” he assured.
