The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as a suspect in four major corruption investigations, including allegations linked to the National Cathedral project, Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML), and two undisclosed cases.
Addressing the media today, Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng described Mr Ofori-Atta as a fugitive and ordered him to return to Ghana immediately for questioning.
He warned that failure to comply would result in legal measures to compel his return.
“The fugitive’s name is Kenneth Ofori-Atta,” Kissi Agyebeng said.
Mr Agyebeng dismissed claims that the former minister had left the country for medical treatment, insisting that he must cooperate with ongoing investigations.
He also denied reports that OSP officials had raided Ofori-Atta’s residence on Tuesday, February 11.
Instead, he alleged that the former minister staged the incident to mislead the public and undermine the investigations.
