Theophilus Nii Kpakpo Allotey will be in action at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday December 20, battling in the WBO Global Super Flyweight division against Jayr Raquinel, the Asian Boxing Federation super flyweight champ, (18-2-1, 14 KOs) of Philippines.

Allotey who is undefeated as a pro in 11 fights holds the WBO Africa Bantamweight title as well as the UBO and National Super Flyweight titles.

He was recently named the EMY Africa Sports Personality pf the year 2025, after missing the SWAG Boxer of the year.

The wisdom boxing gym product who represented Ghana at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Qualifiers in Senegal, Thailand and Italy says he has learnt a lot in the sport.

He went to Ethiopia to face the great Zambian Africa Flyweight Champion in a special ABC and IBA initiative. Zambia’s Patrick “Baddo” Chinyemba and Ghana’s Theo “Lopez” Allotey fought in an eight-round IBA Africa flyweight title fight at the Adwa Museum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, before moving to a training camp in the Cayman Islands.

Acording to Coach Asare, they are ready for the world title but it is necessary and important that they pass through the processes by beating other champions around the world.

“Allotey is in a class of his own and I also want to prove a point in Ghana Professional Boxing” he said.

Also known as Lopez, Allotey is fighting on the card of Matchroom and Legacy Rise Sports Promotions which has other big fights like Freezy Macbones versus Jonathan Tetteh and John Laryea versus Holy Dorgbetor, Abdula and Sampson Segbedzi are also on the bill as well as Richards versus Azeez (both are not Ghanaians but great boxers).
