The Resurrection and the Life
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. John 11:25
Jesus is the resurrection and the life. He made this bold statement when Lazarus had died and been buried.
In this statement, Jesus reveals to us that resurrection is not merely an event; it is a Person. Jesus is the resurrection.
Faith in Jesus enables us to participate in the resurrection. Jesus demonstrated that He is the resurrection by raising Lazarus from the dead and, ultimately, by rising from the dead Himself.
Faith in Jesus assures us that there is resurrection beyond death. Jesus conquered death when He rose from the grave after three days. We, too, will conquer death when Jesus returns.
Jesus is the resurrection and the life. Whoever trusts in Him will live, even though they die.
May we continually put our faith in Jesus, knowing that He is our resurrection and our life. Shalom.
