President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Electoral Commission, have separately filed their notice of appearance, through their respective lawyers at the Supreme Court in connection with former President John Mahama’s election petition.
Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co. filed on behalf of the President while Amenuvor & Associates filed for the election management body.
They will be representing the President and the EC, the two respondents cited by Mr Mahama in the petition.
Amenuvor & Associates represented by Justin Amenuvor will be the lead lawyer for the first respondent, Electoral Commission (EC) while Mr Akoto Ampaw of Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co. will be representing the 2nd respondent, the President.
Mr Mahama, on Wednesday, 30 December 2020, explained to Ghanaians why he has refused to concede in the recently-held presidential election and filed the petition to challenge the results of the polls.
