The Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah has presented a scholarship award letter to Miss Nimatu Bimata Iddrisu who hails from Kpembe in the East Gonja Municipality.
Miss Nimatu Bimata Iddrisu is 22 years and a former student of Notre Dame Girls Senior High School in Sunyani. She scored 6As and 2Bs in the 2020 West Africa Senior Schools Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The MP for the area, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah was so pleased with Miss Nimatu Bimata Iddrisu’s exceptional performance and decided to secure a GETFUND scholarship which covers the entire year (6) tuition fees of the student.
Hajia Zuwera in her interaction with Miss Nimatu Bimata indicated that education and human capital development forms part of her key priorities and pledged to continue prioritizing education in the constituency.
She encouraged Miss Nimatu to serve as a role model to other female students in the two Senior High Schools in the constituency in order to influence them positively and see more females emulating her performance.
Mr. Rauf Iddrisu who is the elder brother of Miss Nimatu and who represented their family expressed their sincere appreciation to Hajia Zuwera for her timely intervention and prayed for Allah’s continued blessings for the MP.
Miss Nimatu on her part assured the Hon Member of Parliament for Salaga-South constituency that, she will continue to apply herself to her studies and upon completion will return to Kpembe to serve her people and the East Gonja Municipality.
It was quite an emotional moment when the Hon. Member of Parliament heaped praise on Mr. Mahama Iddrisu, father of Nimatu for his commitment to his daughter’s education. Hon Hajia Zuwera said “the East Gonja Municipality became richer today.”
