In a statement going viral on the internet, Dr. Mumuni Kudzordzi has been quoted to have said, “Former President John Dramani Mahama can win the flagbearership race but it will be very difficult for him to win the general election of 2024 due to his cool type of politics and sycophants he is working with.

“The NDC flag bearer, former President John Mahama, is a fine gentleman. A former president who has what it takes to bring the party back to power in 2024, and restore hope to Ghanaians once again. He’s affable and intelligent, and the party loves him. However, JDM, as we affectionately call him, cannot win with today’s NDC”, part of the statement read.

This is not conjecture, but fact. JM lost as a sitting President because the NDC was not fit for purpose in 2016. The sycophancy of his team, which continues to sing praises without addressing and resolving issues, combined with the hypocrisy of party executives who publicly hail JM but privately despise him, is how JM lost 2020.

It is an open secret that Mahama’s team hates the national executives, and the executives gladly return the favor. This pretending is what delivered the party’s defeat in 2020. Stories of party executives who sold out to the NPP in 2020 for money are all over the place, He added.

From the Northern regions down to the Central region, there are stories of the constituency and regional executives who took money and allowed the NPP to rig the elections.

This open love and hidden hate for JM by some executives culminated in the glaring abandonment at the EC with the NDC agents willingly walking away from the post after taking tea and no biscuit.

We can all agree that it was a disgraceful performance, but the back story is that the party remained unfit to win 2020, and today, it remains unfit to win 2024. How do we fix that? part of his statement stated.

But in a response to him, The National Vice-Chairman of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, H.E. Alhaji Said Sinare, said the author can write but is misguided to write without facts.

Speaking to the media, H.E Alhaji Said Sinare said Dr. Mumuni Kumordzi’s candidate, DANIEL OSEI doesn’t have what it takes to win power from the NPP and it will be a political suicide if the party dares to pair him with former president Mahama for the 2024 battle.

He also defended Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the National Democratic Congress (NDC2020 )’s running mate, amid increased calls for her to be replaced in the 2024 general elections.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang, he maintains, is capable of filling the party’s running mate position.

Why would anyone want to replace Jane, who is a scandal-free candidate to match whoever becomes the NPP’s flagbearer?

I won’t be involved in any of these gullible meetings to change Jane, who has restored hope among Ghanaian women and generated love for our party for the likes of Ambassador Daniel.

Any attempt to coerce her into changing her mind would be disastrous for our party! He also added.

Dr. Mumuni Kumordzi writes;

THE MARRIAGE: IF JOHN MAHAMA WERE TO MARRY – A WINNING TICKET FOR NDC

John Mahama must win 2024, can Osei be his John the Baptist, to help prepare the grounds for him to bring NDC out of opposition? I am Talking about Ambassador Daniel Osei. After all, opposites attract, and that has been the foundation of every good marriage since time immemorial. My thoughts.

Who speaks truth to power today in NDC more than Ambassador Daniel Osei? The simple answer is no one. Of all the labels one can give this man, sycophant is not one of them, and this is what the Umbrella party needs today. This is what JM needs. A hard hitting, no nonsense party activist made in the mold of Chairman Rawlings.

Like Rawlings getting into the gutter with the common folks, Osei is notorious for going places where most political elites will never dare go, and doing things with the ordinary citizens. He understands political organizing like nobody I know. The quintessential grassroots man who equally appeals to the middle class as a politician who makes sense.

NDC AT CROSSROADS:
In the words of President, John Mahama, our best bet and obvious choice for NDC flag bearer, Ghana is at crossroads and the path the nation takes now is crucial. The same is true for NDC. The party is at a crossroads. We lost our ways while in power, and the culture of sycophancy and hypocrisy collapsed our fortunes in a demoralizing defeat in 2016, and again in 2020.

The NDC flag bearer, former President John Mahama is a fine gentleman. A former president who has what it takes to bring the party back to power in 2024, and restore hope to Ghanaians once again. He’s affable, intelligent and the party loves him. However, JDM as we affectionately call him, cannot win with todays NDC. This is not conjecture but fact. JM lost as a sitting President because NDC was not fit for purpose in 2016.

The sycophancy of his team, who keep singing praises without addressing and solving issues, coupled with the hypocrisy of party executives who publicly hail praises on JM, but privately hate him, is exactly how JM lost 2020. It is an open secret that Mahama’s team hates the national executives, and the executives gladly return the favor.

This pretending is what delivered the party’s defeat in 2020. Stories of party executives who sold out to the NPP in 2020 for money, are all over the place. From the Northern regions down to Central region, there are stories of constituency and regional executives who took money and allowed the NPP to rig the elections.

This open love and hidden hate for JM by some executives, culminated into the glaring abandonment at the EC with the NDC agents willingly walking away from post after taking tea and no biscuit. We can all agree that was a disgraceful performance, but the back story is that the party remained unfit to win 2020 and today, it remains unfit to win 2024. How do we fix that? It must be fixed.

At this crossroads, one constant is JDM as flag bearer. That factor is settled law. John Mahama WILL be the NDC flag bearer for 2024 elections. The bigger question is, can JM win 2024 with the same core team of sycophants on the one hand, and party executives who exude miasma of hypocrisy of the worse kind on the other. Simply put, can John Mahama win 2024 with a party that remains unfit for winning? This is the crossroads for NDC.

Should the party continue with these dynamics that makes it unfit for winning or can we make the bold decision of changing these dynamics with a new no nonsense and truth-telling executive leadership who is ready and able to prune the party of the sycophancy, and simultaneously cleanse the miasma of hypocrisy at the national headquarters? I believe the latter is necessary to help make the party fit for the purpose of winning. Let’s be patient and choose wisely.

AMBASSADOR DANIEL OSEI:
There’s no singular person in the NDC today who wants the NDC to win 2024 more than Ambassador Daniel Osei, but there’s history here. During the last NDC primaries, there was no louder voice for change of flag bearer than Ambassador Daniel Osei. He never minced words when it came to the topic of returning JDM as flag bearer.

He didn’t think it was good for the party and he said so passionately, and argued strongly. I was shocked by his frank approach in debates, and without imputing right or wrong on much of what he said, his concerns and predictions for 2020 played out for all to see. I don’t need to remind you all that we lost.

During his loud opposition to Mahama’s return as flag bearer, he consistently pushed ideas on party reforms and activities which can help us improve our numbers. He was equally fixated on numbers as he was on his position of change of flag bearer.

That is what got my attention, and made me decide to pay attention in class, and learn more about this man. His knowledge of the grounds is second to none, and his passion is infectious.

Nearly everywhere he has worked with the party, those who experienced him, love him. There are party executives who worked with him in different constituencies who fell in love with his sincerity, kindness and passion so much they named their children after him! That says something about the man.

His courage says clearly, he will always speak the truth to the boss and not sugar-coat things. His strong mindedness will be helpful in whipping the executives in line, and his organizing prowess will bring a new and more modern approach to our electioneering campaign for numbers and help us get over the 50%+1 we need to secure victory in 2024.

OPPOSITES ATTRACT:
John Mahama is known to be cool, calm and collected. It is said that he never gets angry or excited about anything. Always cool, which is a great asset. Ambassador Osei is known to be strong-minded and brutally passionate on political matters.

He’s seen as a fearless warrior who does whatever it takes to get the job done and probably the singular person the party needs today as an executive, to help make it fit for the purpose of winning the 2024 elections. His energy is palpable.

MARRIAGE:
A marriage between these two will greatly benefit the NDC as it prepares for 2024 elections. The fact is that, they were not always butting heads. JDM once saw it fit to appoint him as the governments representative in Dubai, and the UAE.

They’ve had good times together before, and as a married man myself, I know a thing or two about marriage disputes. Maybe it’s time for the NDC family elders to talk to these two once lovers, to fall in love again and help bring the party back to power. My thoughts.
