A General Secretary aspirant of the New Periotic Party (NPP), Mr. Iddrisu Musa Superior, is confident that he will emerge winner in the upcoming national delegates’ congress of the party to elect new executives for the party at the national level.

He said the outcome of the election at the grassroots levels was an indication that the members of the party need a change in the leadership of the party.

“So the polling station executives sent a clear message that things are not going on well and they wanted changes, and that is what is expected around the country,” he stated.

Musa Superior was speaking in an interview with the media at the just-ended Regional Delegates congress of the party in the Upper West region at the weekend.

According to him, he has visited 75 constituencies in 12 regions in the country and has gathered that there is a call for change in the leadership of the party.

He also said he had planned to introduce a business module into the party to take care of the members of the party.

The General Secretary aspirant could not understand why some leaders of the party at the grassroots level were living in abject poverty but were expected to galvanize the grassroots and attract people to the party.

He said, “61 percent of the last constituency officers either didn’t have a job or have no meaningful business” which he said was unacceptable.

He, therefore, explained that it is the duty of every party to take care of its members in terms of employment and job placement.

He said when the party people are looked after properly, they gain social power and become worthy ambassadors of the party to help the party gain political power.

Musah Superior also urged aspirants of the party to accept the decision of the delegates and that a committed member of the party ought to place the interest of the party first before his or her personal interest.
