The first full Professor within the nursing profession in Ghana, Lydia Aziato, has been inducted as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, UHAS in Ho.
Prof Aziato’s investiture also saw the induction of Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, as the new Registrar of UHAS.
She becomes the first female Vice Chancellor of the University, having succeeded Prof John Gyapong whose tenure ended in July this year.

“I will lead a vibrant and motivated team to ensure the Great Giant, UHAS, continues to rise to become a force to reckon with within the health space,” she said.
President Akufo-Addo who graced the occasion at the University’s permanent campus at Sokode Lokoe in the Ho Municipality pledged his support to the new leadership’s transformation agenda.
