The Krachi Nchumuru District Assembly has released a statement to set the records straight explaining the real facts behind the recent Borae Chieftaincy violence that led to the death of one person.

The Krachi Nchumuru District Assembly and the District Security Committee condemn in the strongest possible terms the heinous attack by some assailants in Borae Ahenfie on Saturday, 19th November, 2022, which caused destructions of properties, injuries and death of three people including the Chief of the area.

We affirm that criminality in all its forms and manifestations constitute one of the most grievous threat to national security. We express our deepest condolences to the affected families and the entire community and wish a speedy recovery to the injured.

All efforts by the security mechanisms as welcomed by the Krachi Nchumuru District Assembly have contributed to the relative calm in the affected area. Management of the Assemblywould like to use this opportunity to express our profound gratitude to the security agencies and encourage them to continue their relentless efforts in maintaining peace and order in the area.

There is an underlying need to hold perpetrators and organizers of these reprehensible acts of criminality accountable and bring them to justice. Currently, the police have in custody some suspected individuals who are assisting in investigations.

Management will like to assure the people of Krachi Nchumuru District that the security will continue to conduct investigations into this matter and bring all perpetrators to face the law.

As citizens of this country, we believe that we have responsibilities in cooperating actively with all relevant authorities in apprehending those who pose threat to the security of our communities within the country.

We are therefore asking all individuals to provide all necessary information in bringing the suspected perpetrators to justice.

We reiterate that any form of attack is criminal and unjustifiable regardless of their motivation, whenever and whomever.

Management will like to assure the people of Boarae Ahenfie and her neighboring communities not to panic but should go about their normal socio-economic activities.
