Kingsley Schindler, Jerome Opoku and Stephan Ambrosius handed late call-ups to the Black Stars squad as replacements for Tariq Lamptey, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku and Osman Bukari who’re set to miss Ghana’s double friendly games against Mexico and USA due to several degrees of injuries.

Jerome Opoku is on loan at Turkish Super League side Istanbul Basaksehir and has so far scored 1 goal in his opening 4 games for Istanbul.

The Black Stars of Ghana fine-tune their preparations for the double friendly assignment against Mexico and the USA by engaging in an hour workout session in Charlotte, North Carolina ,USA

Head coach, Chris Houghton and his technical handlers will use these games to access the team’s set-up ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers and next year’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to come off in Ivory Coast.

A total of 19 players were in attendance for the training session held at Charlotte FC’s training facility in North Carolina yesterday.

The 19 players who trained are as follows : Richard Ofori, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Alidu Seidu, Kingsley Schindler,  Nicholas Opoku, Stephan Ambrosius, Gideon Mensah, Joseph Aidoo, Joseph Paintsil, Salis Abdul Samed, Antoine Semenyo, Ernest Nuamah, Radford Yeboah Konigsdorffer, Jordan Ayew, Edmund Addo and Thomas Partey.

Ghana plays against Mexico on Saturday, October 14 before travelling to Nashville, Tennessee to play the USA on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the GEODIS Park.
