In what the NDC activist described as a surprising turn of events against the ruling NPP few hours after close of polls of the just ended December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections, Oscar Komla Bedzra, an outspoken Constituency Executive Member of the NDC in the Ho Central Constituency has mocked.

He stated that the entire election occurred to them[ NPP ]ŵ like a popular but interesting sports betting game referred to as ‘Aviator’.

In a radio interview with a Takoradi- based KYZZ FM on Friday December 27, Mr Oscar Komla Bedzra mocked the NPP in which he stated that “….the NPP before the December 7 general elections, was of the high hope that they’ll win this election and they banged their hopes on various forms of rigging mechanisms, only to be taken by surprise like the way aviator takes people by surprise”.

This even to those of us in the NDC has been a huge lesson. If the NPP cannot learn from this not only a disastrous, but also ‘an aviator form of a defeat’, then I don’t know when again they’ll learn from electoral fortunes.

When asked if President Elect John Dramani Mahama will be able to restore the economic fortunes of the country, he stated that “….I’m very much optimistic that President John Dramani Mahama will use his experience as a past leader to reset Ghana on the path of economic recovery we all want. And that’s exactly why Ghanians massively voted for us, judging from his last leadership as a former president”.

Oscar Komla Bedzra while urging calm among party supporters across the country, however urged Ghana’s electoral body (Electoral Commission) to be neutral in resolving issues regarding the 9 Parliamentary seats currently in contention.
