Greenhouse Group Chairman, Mr. Zheng Xiangming (Left) & President John Mahama
Bole, Savannah Region – A very touching and compassionate gesture of solidarity was perfomed in the Savannah Region when His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, through the Greenhouse Company Limited presented donations to support conflict-displaced persons in the Bole and Tuna/Kalba Districts.
The conflict is between the Gonjas and the Brifo people.
The presentation was done on behalf of Greenhouse Group Chairman, Mr. Zheng Xiangming by Mr. Wilson Wu, General Manager of the Greenhouse Group.
The event was graced by government representatives, the regional NADMO Coordinator and district chief executives, including Hon. Abdulai Mahmud, DCE for Bole District, and Hon. Sinkina Saaka, DCE for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.
Relief Items Donated
The donation comprised mats, pillows, bags of rice, beverages, cartons of Indomie noodles, cooking oil, tin tomatoes and other essential supplies intended to bring immediate relief to affected families, especially women and children.

Mr. Wilson Wu assured the people of Bole and Tuna/Kalba that the company stands ready to work hand in hand with communities to help restore total peace and stability.
“We started our business here in Ghana in 2011 and our main business is Industrial Park Development, Manufacturing, Fish Farming, Engineering, Housing, Real Estate and Mining.
As a leading Chinese Company in Ghana, we always put Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in our mind throughout our whole journey of operation.
When we saw this incident happen in the President’s Hometown Bole and Gbinyiri, we were so deeply touched and we felt Greenhouse should do something to support the government and the people to overcome these difficult moments.
….We immediately put our effort into action and we quickly organized the goods and the goods have arrived safely here in Bole. On behalf of the Greenhouse Group, we are handing over these donation goods to the representatives of the Bole District in the area.
I believe the goods will go a long way to help the displaced people of this area especially women and children. We are very grateful to the two members of parliament of the two constituencies and the district chief executives for their support.
I believe with the intervention and the support of the government and the chiefs, full peace will come soon.
Thank you very much again!!!”
President Mahama’s Message
Engineer Kwaku Frimpong Kumah, who represented the President John Dramani Mahama, extended a heartfelt appeal for peace and reconciliation.
“These items are not just supplies; they are a symbol of solidarity and a message that the welfare of every Ghanaian matters,” he said.
He highlighted President Mahama’s concern for the wellbeing of displaced persons and his deep affection for the communities, who have been affected by recent conflicts.
“Let us work together to ensure peace prevails, so that we can build a brighter future where prosperity flourishes for all, and the flames of conflict are extinguished,” the President urged.
He stressed that peace, unity, and forgiveness are the foundations of development and called on the communities to embrace dialogue and cooperation.
Hon. Abdulai Mahmud, DCE for Bole District, who played host to the visitors thanked the President John Dramani Mahama and the Greenhouse Group.
The ceremony ended with renewed calls for peace, underscoring that only in unity can communities thrive and development take firm root in the Savannah Region.
Receiving the donated items, the Bole District NADMO Director, Timothy Bayinyare, expressed his deepest appreciation and thanked His Excellency President John Mahama and Mr. Wilson Wu and the Greenhouse team for such a very timely kind gesture.
“Today, we are fortunate to receive a significant number of relief items from the Greenhouse Group.
Since this unfortunate incident, this donation by the Greenhouse Group is the biggest and largest support so far that we have received and we thank them so much.
We are deeply grateful for this kind gesture and also extend our sincerest thanks to His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama.
….As we all know, the President hails from this community, and though he is mostly based in Accra, he always keeps an eye on us—monitoring events and ensuring that peace prevails here. As he continues to preach peace, we too echo that message, and we are truly thankful for the continuous support he has given us,” he said.
He added: “My humble advice as the NADMO Director is that whenever conflicts of this nature occur, the greatest loss we suffer is human life—and life is paramount.
As I speak to you now, we have lost about 32 precious lives, which is a huge loss to the country. These individuals could have contributed productively to our nation.
Therefore, I plead with all of us: as the President preaches peace, let us all join in, including our traditional leaders—the Bolewura, Sawlawura, and Yagbonwura—who are also advocating for peace.
Let us all embrace peace so that harmony may prevail between the two districts, enabling us to live together in unity.”
He also touched on the background of the conflict.
“When this conflict began, it started in Gbenyiri, a suburb of the Sawla District, and later escalated into the Bole District, thereby affecting both the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District and the Bole-Bamboi Constituency.
In response, NADMO established camps at Sawla and Gbenyiri, while in the Bole District, many of our people were displaced and had to move as far as Ivory Coast. Additionally, we have some displaced persons being hosted in Wenchi, specifically in Subinso.
We are also grateful for the support received from the two Members of Parliament (MP) of the area for all their support.”
