The Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF) has been honored by the Cyber Security Authority of Ghana (CSA) for the organisation’s immense contributions to raising awareness in terms of child online safety and cybersecurity advancement in its broader sense.

The award comes on the back of the successful climax of this year’s National Child Online Safety Summit (NOSS) 2026, held earlier this month.

The citation read “*CYBER SECURITY AUTHORITY to Ghana Internet Safety Foundation in recognition of your significant contribution to the cybersecurity development in Ghana”.*

At the National Child Online Safety Summit 2026, GISF reinforced a huge responsibility and as a nation to protect children in an increasingly complex digital environment.

Across Ghana, children are engaging with digital technologies as part of everyday life. While these tools offer opportunity and access to knowledge, they also expose children to serious and evolving risks that demand our collective attention.

GISF has strongly held that Child Online Protection must be treated as a national priority. It speaks to human dignity, fundamental rights, and the long term sustainability of our digital future. For me, the protection of children online is not an abstract policy issue.

It is a measure of who we are as a society and what we choose to protect. Every incident of online harm represents a child whose safety and confidence have been compromised, calling for deliberate, coordinated, and preventive action.

Under the Cybersecurity Act 2020 Act 1038, the Cyber Security Authority is mandated to safeguard Ghana’s digital space.

In fulfilling this mandate, stakeholders are strengthening reporting and response mechanisms, improving our understanding of emerging threats, and deepening collaboration with government institutions, law enforcement, the judiciary, industry, civil society, educators, parents, and international partners.

In today’s rapidly evolving digital age, one institution has consistently stood tall as Ghana’s most authoritative voice on online safety and digital inclusion — the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF).

GISF is not just an organization; it is a national movement reshaping how Ghanaians experience the internet — safely, responsibly, and confidently.

While others react to digital threats, GISF anticipates them, educates against them, and builds systems to prevent them.

It also worthy to note that the Foundation’s impact was recently spotlighted at the prestigious Ghana Philanthropy Awards, where its leadership in advancing digital inclusion and online safety received national recognition.

For years, GISF has worked tirelessly across schools, communities, institutions, and policy platforms to ensure that internet access in Ghana goes hand-in-hand with internet safety.

The Foundation understands a simple but powerful truth: digital inclusion without digital protection is incomplete.

Through structured workshops, nationwide school outreach programs, stakeholder engagements, and media advocacy, GISF has educated thousands of students, teachers, parents, and youth leaders on navigating the online world securely.

Its campaigns do not merely inform — they empower. GISF’s approach is holistic. It blends digital literacy, online behaviour education, child protection advocacy, and cyber-awareness into practical programs that respond to Ghana’s unique technological realities.

From urban centers to underserved rural communities, the Foundation’s footprint continues to expand.

As Ghana embraces digitalization — from fintech growth to e-learning platforms and social media entrepreneurship — GISF remains the steady guardian ensuring citizens are not left vulnerable to online harm.

Its voice has become central to conversations about cyber safety, child online protection, and responsible technology use.

What sets GISF apart is its community-driven philosophy. The Foundation does not operate from a distance; it works directly with schools, families, educators, and institutions to build sustainable safety cultures.

This grassroots model has strengthened trust and amplified its nationwide influence.

Signature initiatives such as Safer Internet Week Ghana, Digital Parenting Clinics, and Online Behaviour Education programs have reached countless beneficiaries.

Each initiative reinforces GISF’s core message — that safety, empathy, and awareness must define Ghana’s digital transformation.

Beyond awareness campaigns, GISF contributes meaningfully to national policy conversations and regional collaborations focused on strengthening online safety frameworks.

The Foundation represents Ghana in broader digital safety dialogues, ensuring local realities shape global discussions.

GISF’s partnerships with educational institutions, civil society organizations, technology stakeholders, and law enforcement agencies have further strengthened the country’s online protection ecosystem. Through collaboration, it has built a united front against cyber threats.

The Foundation’s work also extends into digital empowerment — equipping young people with practical skills to thrive in the technology-driven future.

By merging protection with empowerment, GISF ensures that safety does not limit opportunity, but rather enhances it.

Its leadership model blends innovation with compassion.

Every campaign, workshop, and engagement reflects a deep understanding of how technology shapes modern life — especially for young people.

This is what GISF President and Executive Director, Mr Emmanuel Edem Kwamla Adinkrah had to share:

“I extend my sincere appreciation to the Cybersecurity Authority and our partners for their support over the years.

GISF recognizes that behind every device is a human being who deserves protection and opportunity. Its efforts are influencing attitudes, inspiring responsibility, and building digital confidence nationwide.

Importantly, GISF’s impact is measurable not only in numbers reached, but in lives transformed.

Students who once faced cyberbullying now understand how to report abuse. Parents who once felt disconnected from their children’s online lives now have tools to guide them. Teachers are better equipped to foster responsible digital behaviour.

In a time when misinformation spreads rapidly and online exploitation grows increasingly sophisticated, GISF remains vigilant.

The Foundation continues to innovate, adapt, and strengthen its strategies to meet emerging threats.

GISF has become a model for how a Ghanaian organization can tackle global digital challenges using local insight and community engagement.

Its work proves that meaningful change begins at home but resonates globally.

As Ghana accelerates toward a digitally driven economy, the importance of institutions like GISF cannot be overstated.

A safe digital environment is not optional — it is foundational to sustainable national development.

Today, GISF stands as Ghana’s digital guardian — bold in vision, strategic in action, and unwavering in commitment.

Its mission continues beyond ceremonies and recognitions.

The future of Ghana’s digital space depends not only on connectivity but on protection, education, and inclusion — pillars that GISF has consistently championed.

Through its sustained advocacy and community engagement, the Ghana Internet Safety Foundation has firmly established itself as the backbone of online safety awareness in Ghana.

In the story of Ghana’s digital transformation, one name continues to rise with authority and impact — GISF.

And as the nation moves deeper into the digital age, GISF remains resolute: building safer futures, strengthening digital trust, and ensuring that every Ghanaian can navigate the internet with confidence.”
