Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited, a ceramics and sanitary wares manufacturing company which operates on a 24-hour shift system, has used its recently held commissioning and sod-cutting ceremony to reaffirm its alignment with the government’s 24-hour economy policy.
The event held on 24th February, 2026, marks a major expansion of its operations beyond ceramics manufacturing to glass production, cementing its position as a leading manufacturer in Ghana.
Special Guest of honor was President John Dramani Mahama who praised Keda (Ghana) for using Ghana’s macroeconomic stability to expand its investment in the country.
He also commended the company for operating a 24-hour shift system in line with his government’s 24-hour Economy Policy.
He assured the company that the government is committed to creating a more supportive investment environment to strengthen the local manufacturing industry.

Managing Director of Keda (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited Mr. Li Wei used the occasion to tout the 24-hour economy policy as timely and crucial to reshaping Ghana’s economic landscape.
He used Keda (Ghana) as a concrete demonstration of the effectiveness of continuous operations in driving growth, allowing for operational efficiency and massive employment generation.
He explained that the company’s round-the-clock operations have enabled it to maximize production capacity to cater to domestic and export markets’ demand, create jobs, and contribute to the country’s GDP.
He also highlighted its impact on import dependency reduction.
“Our operations align with the 24-Hour Economy policy. We operate around the clock to ensure continuous production for both domestic consumption and export, helping to shift Ghana away from dependence on imported ceramics,” he said.
Aside from operating round the clock, Keda (Ghana)’s commitment to sourcing almost all its raw materials locally aligns with the 24-hour economy agenda to build stronger local value chains.
“Central to sustaining our round-the-clock operations is value addition. In this regard, we source nearly all raw materials locally to manufacture our products; thereby promoting sustainability, strengthening local supply chains and retaining value within the Ghanaian economy,’’ he pointed out.
The Group Chair, Y.C Shen, in his address, linked the company’s capacity to maintain round-the-clock operations and its expansion drive to recent improvements in Ghana’s macroeconomic climate.
“I want to start by praising the government for the significant macroeconomic advancements made in the last few years. The foundation of investor confidence is macroeconomic stability. This stability builds trust, and trust attracts investment.
….When investors see clear direction, consistency in economic management and structural reforms, they respond positively,” he stated.
He also referenced the recent passage of the 24-hour Economy Authority Bill by parliament, describing it as a reflection of the government’s commitment to Ghana’s economic transformation.
“With the parliamentary approval of the 24-Hour Economy Authority bill, Ghana sends a powerful message to investors worldwide that it is open for business. For manufacturers like us, this policy provides for continuous production and expanded output, enhancing competitiveness’’.
