President of Online Publishers Association of Ghana (OPAG) Mr. Michael Petit Mawugbe (Efo Mawugbe) has been appointed Chairman for the Journalism for Peace and Social Cohesion Awards Jury.
Efo Mawugbe’s appointment was considered following his journalistic depth and his impressive delivery and contributions at the Sahel Peace Initiative ( SPI) Summit held in Bamako, Mali a few months ago.
Noted for his strong stance for digital literacy and advocate against Misinformation and disinformation, the President of OPAG is expected to lead the Jury made of representatives from Five African Countries to carefully analyze, the works of Applicants and select deserving winners for the JPSC Awards.
“It is humbling to be appointed amongst competent Media giants from the sub-region. This is a win for Ghana and I believe this is a testament that OPAG’s advocacy is being recognized beyond the shores of Ghana”, the President of OPAG emphasized.
“…It also highlights Ghana’s performances in ensuring media freedom.
The PJPCS is under the auspices of the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace of Burkina (CJP-Burkina), which also takes the lead in implementing the activities of the Sahel Peace Initiative with funding from CRS.
