The Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to host a major health policy dialogue aimed at examining the achievements of the NPP government in Ghana’s healthcare sector between January 2017 and January 2025.

The virtual event, dubbed “NPP Health Dialogue 2026,” is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. GMT (7:30 p.m. CET) via Zoom.

The dialogue will feature renowned health policy expert and former Presidential Adviser on Health, Dr. Nsiah Asare, as the keynote speaker.

He is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the reforms, investments and policy interventions undertaken by the NPP administration during its eight-year tenure in government.

The event will be hosted by Dr. Felix Yamoah, Chairman of NPP Germany, who has described the dialogue as an important platform for members of the party, health professionals, policy analysts and the Ghanaian public to reflect on the progress made in the country’s healthcare delivery system.

According to organizers, the discussion will focus on the theme: “A Look at the Health Achievements of NPP from January 2017 to January 2025.”

Key areas to be examined include the major health policies and reforms introduced under the NPP administration, the expansion of healthcare infrastructure across the country, and efforts aimed at improving access to quality healthcare services for Ghanaians.

Participants will also have the opportunity to gain insights into the government’s investments in digital health and healthcare innovation, as well as lessons learned from the implementation of various health programmes and interventions over the period under review.

Organizers say the dialogue will provide a fact-based assessment of the NPP government’s contribution to Ghana’s healthcare system and offer perspectives on the future direction of health policy in the country.

The programme is expected to attract NPP members in the diaspora, healthcare professionals, academics, students, development partners and members of the Ghanaian community in Germany and beyond.

The event comes at a time when discussions about healthcare delivery, infrastructure development, health financing and universal health coverage continue to feature prominently in national policy debates.

Organizers and supporters of the initiative believe the dialogue will help deepen public understanding of key interventions undertaken by the NPP government, including efforts to strengthen the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), expand healthcare facilities and improve emergency and specialist healthcare services.

The dialogue is also expected to highlight the role of strategic investments in health infrastructure, including hospitals, medical equipment and digital systems designed to improve healthcare outcomes nationwide.

NPP Germany says it remains committed to promoting informed discussions on governance, development and public policy issues affecting Ghana and its citizens both at home and abroad.

The organizers have encouraged interested persons to join the Zoom session and actively participate in the discussions as the party reflects on what it describes as significant achievements recorded in the health sector between 2017 and 2025.

The event will be held under the banner, “Together, Building a Healthier Ghana the NPP Way,” reflecting the party’s continued focus on healthcare development and access for all citizens.
