Be Still

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10

Psalm 46 is a song of confidence in God’s protection. The confidence of His people rests in the assurance that God is present and actively at work in their lives.

It is with this confidence that God declares in verse 10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”

God calls us to be still and trust in His power to save. To be still means to stop striving in our own strength to accomplish what only God can do. His purposes are fulfilled through His power and resources, not ours. When we rely solely on our own strength, we soon discover our limitations.

To be still also means to know God personally and trust what He is able to do in every situation. It is an invitation to rest in Him, depending completely on His wisdom, strength, and faithfulness.

True faith is anchored in the confidence that God is able to deliver, save, and accomplish His purposes even when we are weak and incapable of helping ourselves.

To be still is to trust that God will surely come through. When our hearts are quiet before Him, our faith is strengthened because we know that He is God.

Be still, and know that He is God. Shalom.

Prayer:Pray for grace to remain confident of God’s plans and workings in your life even when all isn’t going as planned.
