Rescued
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, Colossians 1:13
God, through Jesus Christ, has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.
Jesus took the initiative to rescue us when we were completely unable to save ourselves. We were under the power and dominion of darkness, but God, in His mercy, came to our rescue.
Darkness is a dominion. It has power and influence, and breaking free from it is beyond human ability. But when Jesus, the Light of the World, shines into our darkness, everything changes.
Yet, being rescued from darkness is only part of God’s work. Jesus did not merely deliver us from the dominion of darkness; He transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.
We are no longer people of darkness. We now belong to the Kingdom of Christ – a kingdom of grace, hope, peace, righteousness, and favour.
What a glorious transformation! From the hopelessness of darkness into the grace-filled Kingdom of Christ. From oppression and bondage into freedom. From being dominated by darkness to belonging to the King.
When we were helpless and trapped in darkness, God came through for us. He rescued us, set us free, and brought us into the Kingdom of His beloved Son.
We have been delivered from the works and power of darkness and brought into a place of hope, peace, freedom, and favour. Christ has changed our story!
We are now His people, citizens of His Kingdom, and the sheep of His pasture. What a privilege! What a mighty salvation! Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Thank God for His great deliverance in your life. Thank Him for rescuing you from the dominion of darkness and bringing you into the glorious Kingdom of His dear Son.
