Praise From The Cave
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth. Psalms 57:5
David was hiding in a cave, being pursued by Saul and the entire army of Israel.
Having cried out to God for mercy, David now turned to praise. In the midst of his difficult circumstances, he asked that God’s glory would be seen.
David praised God in the cave: “Be exalted, O God.”
His predicament did not change his theology. Whether in a cave or in a palace, God remained the God of David. His circumstances had changed, but his view of God had not.
David praised God for His transcendence and supremacy: “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth” (Psalm 57:5).
David trusted that even his difficult situation could become an opportunity for God to be glorified. He believed that his story would ultimately point people to the greatness and faithfulness of God.
Let the whole earth hear your story and give glory to the God who is exalted above the heavens.
David was surrounded by trouble, yet God was exalted in his life. May God also be exalted in your life, above every trouble and circumstance surrounding you.
Let His glory be revealed through your situation today. Shalom.
Prayer:Pray for a heart that can praise God even in the darkest moments and that in all things God be glorified.
