The True Vine
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. John 15:1
Jesus declared that He is the true vine, and God is the vinedresser.
The branches of a vine depend on the plant for life and fruitfulness. Without the stem, the branches have nothing from which to draw life or through which to produce fruit.
Jesus reminds us that our very lives depend on Him. Everything we are and everything we can become is found in Him.
When Jesus said He is the true vine, He meant that He is the genuine and authentic source of life. Others may fail, but Jesus never fails. He is completely trustworthy and sufficient.
God is the vinedresser – the One who owns, tends, and cultivates the vine. Our growth and fruitfulness are the Father’s concern. As we remain connected to Christ, He works in us to make us fruitful.
Therefore, stay connected to Jesus. Abide in Him, draw your strength from Him, and you will live a fruitful life. Shalom.
Prayer: Pray for the grace to abide in Christ, remain connected to Him, and bear fruit that glorifies God.
