Servanthood

Rather, He made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. Philippians 2:7

Christ taught us the value of servanthood as His disciples.

Jesus is God, yet He took on human form and assumed the nature of a servant. The Creator and Owner of the world humbled Himself and became a servant to humanity.

Through His life, Jesus teaches us that true greatness is revealed through servanthood.

Christlike character is demonstrated not by seeking to be served, but by willingly serving others. Jesus teaches us that greatness is not measured by how many people serve us, but by our willingness to serve.

Anyone who desires to be great must first learn to serve. Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant” (Matthew 20:26–28).

Fruitfulness is therefore also seen in servanthood. Those whom God uses greatly are often those who are willing to serve faithfully and humbly.

In the Kingdom of God, greatness and servanthood go hand in hand. Great people are servants, and servants become great because they reflect the character of Christ.

To have the character of Christ is to have a servant’s heart – to humble ourselves, put others first, and willingly use what God has entrusted to us to bless and serve others. Shalom.

Prayer: Pray that God will give you a heart of true servanthood, just like Christ, so that your life will reflect His character and bring glory to Him.
