The Palace of Nandom Naa has announced the passing of the Regent of the Nandom Traditional Council, Mr. David Chemogoh Aasonaa Delle, at the age of 81.

Mr. Delle passed away peacefully at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Thursday, September 24, 2026, following a short illness, according to an official announcement issued by the Office of Nandom Naa.

The announcement said his death had been received with “profound sorrow” by the Nandom Traditional Council and the Royal Family, who have submitted to the will of Almighty God in the wake of the loss.

The late Regent was described as a distinguished custodian of tradition who served the Nandom Stool with dedication, wisdom and humility.

His death, the Palace said, represents a major loss to the Royal Family, the Nandom Traditional Council and the people of the entire Nandom Traditional Area.

His Royal Majesty, Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, Nandom Naa and President of the Nandom Traditional Council, together with the Royal Family and members of the Traditional Council, expressed heartfelt condolences to all those mourning the death of the late Regent.

The Palace acknowledged the significant role played by Mr. Delle in the affairs of the Nandom Traditional Council and his commitment to the preservation and service of the traditional institution.

His passing comes as the traditional area mourns the loss of a senior figure who served as part of the leadership of the Nandom Traditional Council.

The Office of Nandom Naa said further announcements concerning the customary rites and funeral arrangements would be communicated to the public in due course.

The Palace has also appealed to the general public to respect the mourning period and to remember the bereaved family and the people of Nandom in their prayers.

The announcement urged mourners and sympathisers to stand with the family during the period of grief as preparations are made for the customary rites and funeral.

Mr. David Chemogoh Aasonaa Delle’s service to the Nandom Stool has been recognised by the Palace as one marked by commitment, wisdom and humility.

His death has therefore brought together the Royal Family, the Traditional Council and the wider Nandom community in mourning.

The Palace called on the public to allow the appropriate traditional processes to take their course while awaiting further information on the funeral arrangements.

The announcement was issued by Okyeame Frempa Taatuo, Relations Officer at the Office of Nandom Naa, on behalf of His Royal Majesty Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII.

The Palace expressed its condolences to the bereaved family and all who are affected by the passing of the late Regent.

As Nandom mourns the loss of the 81-year-old Regent, the traditional authority has called for prayers and respect for the mourning period.
