Veteran Ghanaian actor, comedian and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto has reportedly died, sending shockwaves across the entertainment and media fraternity.
The news broke on Thursday, October 22, 2026, after reports that he collapsed during a live panel discussion on Owass Radio in Tarkwa.
According to initial reports, Dzokoto was participating in the station’s morning show when he suddenly collapsed in the studio.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Tarkwa but was pronounced dead on arrival, sources have told multiple Ghanaian news outlets.
The report was first confirmed to media by Kirk Mensah, Western Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and cited by GHOne TV, Citi News, Adomonline and others.
As of this morning, his family is yet to release an official statement, and details about the exact circumstances and the hospital involved are still being independently verified.
Dzokoto was best known for his unforgettable role as Judge Koboo in TV3’s long-running sitcom Efiewura, a character that made him a household name.
He later became beloved as the host of Edziban, TV3’s popular show that celebrated Ghanaian food joints and local cuisine, blending humour with culture.
Beyond Efiewura, he remained active on screen, recently featuring in the series Osumesi, and had a long career in radio where he was admired for his warm connection with listeners.
Born to an Ewe father and a Fante mother and raised largely by his mother in Sekondi, Dzokoto often spoke about his humble beginnings in a fishing community and his love for radio.
His public life also extended into politics. He contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC in the 2016 general elections.
