The Founder of The Base Movement (TBM), Dr. George Oti Bonsu, has received an international honour for his contribution to entrepreneurship and political organization.
Dr. Oti Bonsu was awarded the “Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Founding the Base Movement” award at the 15th Annual Mega 3G Media Awards & Celebrity Bash.
The prestigious event was held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the UYC Banquet Hall in Yonkers, New York, USA.
The award was announced in Accra on Sunday, October 25, 2026, by the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) of The Base Movement in a statement signed by its Chief Operations Coordinator, Jacob Osei Yeboah.
According to the NCC, the honour recognizes Dr. Oti Bonsu’s entrepreneurial achievements and his vision in establishing TBM as a socioeconomic and political movement.
The Movement noted that under his leadership, TBM has positioned itself as a platform seeking to create opportunities for Ghana’s youth and to shape a new generation of national leadership.
In a statement, the NCC said it announces the achievement “with immense joy and pride” and described the international recognition as a proud milestone for the Founder, the Movement, and Ghana as a whole.
On behalf of the Board and the entire membership, from the national leadership to the polling-station level, the NCC celebrated the award as a testament to the growing influence of the Movement.
In his acceptance speech in New York, Dr. Oti Bonsu dedicated the award to several key figures and groups.
He dedicated it to his wife, the First Lady of Ghana Mrs. Lordina Mahama, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, Flagbearer of The Base Movement.
He also dedicated the honour to the entire TBM membership from the Board to the polling station level, and to the late Ghanaian music icon, Daddy Lumba.
The NCC said it particularly welcomes the Founder’s acknowledgement of the entire membership, whose commitment sustains the Movement at every level.
The Committee added that the honour renews TBM’s resolve to promote entrepreneurship, responsible leadership, youth employment, grassroots participation and inclusive national development.
The Movement also expressed appreciation to 3G Media Group, organizers of the awards, for recognizing Dr. Oti Bonsu on the international platform.
Following the award, TBM has announced plans to give Dr. Oti Bonsu a heroes’ welcome upon his return to Ghana.
