DORISA Consult has renewed its call for Ghanaian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to make legal compliance a central part of their growth strategies, stressing that a strong digital presence must be supported by responsible and lawful business practices.
The call was made during the third edition of the DORISA Consult Business Advocacy Forum and Counselling Series, which brought together entrepreneurs, business owners, students and other stakeholders for an engaging discussion on sustainable business growth in the digital era.
Held virtually via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the forum explored the theme, “From Visibility to Sales – The Legal Way: Compliant Digital Positioning Strategies for SMEs in 2026.”
The discussion focused on the growing use of social media and other digital platforms by businesses and the need for entrepreneurs to understand the legal and regulatory responsibilities that come with operating and promoting their businesses online.
Founder and Lead Consultant of DORISA Consult, Dr Doris Aryee, said the Business Advocacy Forum was created as a practical platform to help bridge the gap between what entrepreneurs know and how they apply that knowledge in their businesses.
According to her, the increasing popularity of platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp has created enormous opportunities for SMEs to reach customers, but visibility alone should not be mistaken for sustainable business success.
“Visibility without compliance is a liability,” Dr Aryee emphasised, urging entrepreneurs to pay equal attention to the legal, corporate and regulatory foundations of their businesses.
The forum featured a panel of accomplished legal professionals who shared practical perspectives on the issues confronting businesses as they seek to grow and compete in an increasingly complex environment.
The main speaker, Aps. Dr Dello-Ziem Kaaka, Esq., a lawyer, corporate governance practitioner and land and property consultant, joined Mrs. Adisa Walamani Acheampong, Esq., a barrister and solicitor and policy and legal advisor, as well as Mr. Eric Acheampong, Esq., an ADR practitioner with expertise in land, commercial and labour law.
The speakers examined issues relating to corporate governance, commercial and labour transactions, business operations and alternative dispute resolution, highlighting their importance to the long-term success of SMEs.
A major area of discussion was the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and the role it plays in guiding business operations, corporate governance and the development of sustainable enterprises in Ghana.
Participants were encouraged to view compliance not merely as a legal obligation but as an important tool for building credible businesses that can attract customers, investors and strategic partners.
The session was moderated by Mrs Barbara Ennin Nyaniba, while Mrs Monica Laryea led participants in an opening prayer, invoking support for the growth of Ghanaian businesses and the continued impact of the DORISA Consult initiative.
The organisers also recognised entrepreneurs, business and law students from Pentecost University, KAAF University, Accra Metropolitan University, Institute of Economics and Finance and other Institutions who participated in the forum, while participants were encouraged to continue engaging with future editions as part of their professional and business development journey.
DORISA Consult expressed appreciation to the speakers, participants and partners who contributed to the success of the third edition, reaffirming its commitment to supporting businesses through practical knowledge, strategic guidance and advocacy.
Meanwhile, the consulting firm has announced plans for the fourth edition of the Business Advocacy Forum, scheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2026, via Microsoft Teams (virtual).
The upcoming edition will focus on the theme, “Funding Your Growth: Navigating Loans, Grants & Investor Readiness in Ghana,” with details on speakers and registration expected to be announced soon.
