The bodies of 5 persons who drowned in River Offin at New Achiase, a farming Community near Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region have been retrieved by the recovery team.

The third victim was found Monday, October 11, 2021, by the recovery team.

The Chairman of the Unit Committee,  Daniel Adu who disclosed this to our Ashanti Region GBC Correspondent Razak Baba stated that plans are underway to bury the 3 victims.

The incident happened last Friday. The victims, five in number, all males, were among 9 people who were travelling on a canoe to the adjoining community when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Prior to the incident, there had been a downpour that had caused the river to overflow its banks.

Traditionalists have performed some rituals at the bank of the Offin River for divine intervention for the bodies of the missing persons.
