Captain Smart, the Hottest ONUA MAAKYE Morning Show Host on ONUA TV which is owned by TV3 in Accra on Thursday edition of the show showered praises on the Chinese Government for helping Ghana to own an ultra-modern state-of-the-art Defence Ministry here in Accra.

He also mentioned the immense contribution of Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, a former Minister of Defence, for his initiative and continuous engagement with the Chinese government ensured that the dream of constructing an ultra-modern office complex for the Ministry of Defence became a reality.

“Let us also praise and commend the former Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Yu Wenzhe, under whose administration these projects were raised,” Captain Smart said.

This move is also meant to establish that the Chinese deserve commendation and praise for doing so much for Ghana.

It would be recalled that Ghana’s Defence Ministry Office Complex was officially commissioned and handed over to the Government of Ghana on Wednesday 23rd December 2009 by the then Vice President, John Dramani Mahama.

“The Chinese government blessed Ghana Government with this project. This was a USD $50 Million Dollar grant project. It contains 120 rooms building constructed by the Qing Dao Construction and Development Limited of China and it took 18 months to complete it.”

According to Captain Smart, this project came to fruition due to the goodwill that existed between the Ghana government and the People’s Republic of China as well as the strategic involvement of the Former Defence Minister, Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor.

He commended the administration of ex-President J.A Kufuor for its initiative of starting the project.

The ambience of the building alone boosts morale and enriches the performance of personnel since it comes with an international touch from the Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute.
