Ken Ofori-Atta Is Innocent Until Proven Guilty; Kissi Agyebeng Is On A Shameless Wild Goose Chase—NPP GERMANY
The foundation of any just society is the principle that an individual is innocent until proven guilty.
This fundamental tenet of justice, however, appears to be under siege in Ghana, where the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), under the leadership of Kissi Agyebeng, has embarked on what can only be described as a politically motivated witch-hunt and a personal score against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
Recent developments indicate that Ofori-Atta has been subjected to an investigation marred by what appears to be a clear bias, a media trial, and a deliberate effort to tarnish his hard-earned reputation.
While the OSP was established to tackle corruption impartially, its recent actions raise serious concerns about its integrity and commitment to due process.
Ken Ofori-Atta, a distinguished economist and investment banker, served Ghana diligently during one of the most turbulent economic periods in modern history.
He spearheaded initiatives aimed at stabilizing the economy, secured crucial international support, and led efforts to steer the nation through the post-pandemic economic crisis.
Yet, despite his service, he now finds himself at the center of a politically charged investigation, one that lacks the transparency and fairness required in any genuine anti-corruption effort.
It is evident that Kissi Agyebeng has allowed his office to be weaponized for partisan ends. Instead of focusing on genuine cases of corruption with clear evidence, the OSP appears fixated on high-profile figures from the previous administration, particularly those affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The relentless pursuit of Ofori-Atta, despite the absence of concrete evidence of wrongdoing, reeks of a vendetta rather than a legitimate attempt to uphold accountability.
The danger of such actions cannot be overstated. If the OSP continues down this path, it risks eroding public confidence in its credibility and undermining the very essence of justice.
The rule of law must apply equally to all, regardless of political affiliation, and no individual should be subjected to trial by public opinion or arbitrary investigations driven by ulterior motives.
Ken Ofori-Atta deserves a fair and impartial process. The accusations against him must be substantiated with credible evidence, and any investigation must be free from the influence of political agendas.
Anything short of this constitutes a dangerous precedent that threatens to weaken Ghana’s democratic institutions and breed a culture of fear and political persecution.
It is time for Kissi Agyebeng to abandon this shameless wild goose chase and focus on the real work of fighting corruption without bias.
The OSP should not be a tool for political witch-hunting but an institution that upholds integrity, fairness, and the rule of law.
Anything less is a betrayal of its mandate and an insult to the democratic ideals upon which Ghana is built.
It is becoming increasingly clear that Agyebeng’s mandate is being compromised by political influence, turning what was meant to be an independent institution into a propaganda tool for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Agyebeng’s blatant disregard for the courts suggests a personal vendetta rather than a pursuit of justice. Declaring Ofori-Atta wanted when the matter is not in the courts yet, is not just legally questionable—it reeks of a calculated attempt to tarnish reputations and sway public opinion.
It is a dangerous precedent that undermines the rule of law and erodes trust in Ghana’s justice system.
The Special Prosecutor’s office was established to fight corruption impartially, not to be weaponized for political witch-hunts.
Yet, Agyebeng’s approach—characterized by dramatic pronouncements and media-driven enforcement—raises questions about whether his office is truly independent or merely serving the NDC’s political agenda.
His selective zeal in targeting former officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), while turning a blind eye to the proper process of prosecution according to the law is despicable to say the least.
Ghanaians deserve a justice system that upholds fairness, due process, and the rule of law—not one where political interests dictate who is prosecuted and how.
If the Special Prosecutor continues on this path, he risks reducing his office to a mere political tool, erasing any credibility it once had.
Agyebeng must remember that justice is not served through media trials and publicity stunts but through adherence to the law and due process.
The people of Ghana must reject any attempt to manipulate legal institutions for political gain.
The Special Prosecutor must be held accountable to the principles of justice and impartiality, rather than allowing himself to become an instrument of partisan propaganda.
If Kissi Agyebeng cannot separate his duties from political influence, then he has no business occupying such a critical office.
We Say KUDOS to Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia government!!!
