The UNESCO Accra Office will host a pivotal high-level consultation meeting on Thursday, June 5, 2025, focusing on Ghana’s Broadcasting Bill, with a particular emphasis on the role and regulation of Community Broadcasting.

The event will be held at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, Accra.

The event is also meant to help raise public awareness on this significant legislative process and the diverse perspectives influencing the media landscape in Ghana.

This important dialogue will bring together key duty bearers and stakeholders in Ghana’s media and communication sectors, including members of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Information and Communication.

The aim is to engage meaningfully with the draft legislation and explore its implications for the future of broadcasting in the country.

Community Broadcasting remains a vital platform for amplifying grassroots voices, supporting local development, and strengthening democratic discourse.

As such, the consultation seeks to ensure that the final bill reflects a balanced and inclusive media ecosystem that upholds the rights of all stakeholders.
