Team Adams has officially announced that it will not participate in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executive elections scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.

The decision follows a directive from the Acting National Chairman of the NPP and a resolution by the party’s National Steering Committee to suspend the constituency elections until all party election guidelines are fully complied with.

In a press statement issued on Friday, July 10, Team Adams said its withdrawal demonstrates its commitment to fairness, transparency, due process and the protection of the party’s democratic principles.

According to the group, participating in the elections under the current circumstances would be inconsistent with the directive issued by the party’s national leadership. It therefore resolved to respect the decision and refrain from taking part in the electoral process until the necessary conditions have been met.

Our choice reflects our dedication to fairness, transparency, due process, and maintaining the integrity of the New Patriotic Party,” the statement said.

The group further stressed that it would continue to abide by the rule of law within the party and would only participate in a future election after the party grants approval and, if necessary, organises a fresh constituency election in Weija-Gbawe.

Team Adams also reaffirmed its loyalty to the governing party, insisting that its decision should not be interpreted as a withdrawal from the party’s activities or commitment to its objectives.

It noted that despite the suspension of the election, members of the team remain committed to promoting unity, growth and electoral success for the NPP in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency.

The statement appealed to party faithful to remain calm and united as the leadership works towards resolving the issues surrounding the constituency elections.

Team Adams expressed appreciation to its members, delegates and supporters for their encouragement and unwavering support throughout the electoral process.

The group concluded its statement by praying for God’s blessings upon the New Patriotic Party and expressing hope that the impasse would be resolved in a manner that strengthens internal democracy and preserves party unity.

The announcement comes amid ongoing developments surrounding internal party elections in several constituencies as the NPP prepares to elect new constituency executives ahead of future political activities.
