Aspiring executive board member of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Derek Nii Asai Ankrah has been commended by the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and coaches who received the items.

He has said it is a fantastic gesture.

Derek Ankrah who together with Ms. Christina Xia and Theophilus Laryea presented sizable gloves and other items to ten boxing gyms has been hailed while others who did not receive want to be remembered next time.

Coach Waliwu Alhassan of the Northern Boxing Club said next time, they should be remembered.

Coach Smart Abbey of Accra Boxing Club expressed his gratitude to the donors and urged other contestants to prove their seriousness to the welfare of boxers in deprived communities.

Coach Ebenezer Adjei of Wisdom Boxing Gym said the gloves are quality and thanked Mr. Ankrah and Ms.Xia.

Coach Augustus Dodoo of Bukom Boxing Gym challenged boxing enthusiasts in Ghana to do the same to make the sport attractive and admirable.

Coach Amugi of Jamestown Boxing Gym also expressed his gratitude to the donors, likewise Coach Elvis Robertson of Akotoku Academy.

He stood on behalf of all the gyms to appreciate the token and prayed for the presenters and future of Ghana Boxing. hoping that more champions will be unearthed.

Mr. Derek Nii Asai Ankrah. a banking and media personality who has been the Score Master of the Ghana Boxing Authority since the demise of legendary J.A. Annan promised more different equipment in the near future.

He hinted, always dreaming of how to support or give back to where he gets his joy and happiness. which is boxing. He never misses boxing’s events because he is the score master.

He served as a member of the media and publicity committee of the GBA.

He has a habit of promoting human welfare, typically through charitable giving and volunteering.
