Rajan Singh, Head of Sales and Marketing at Caves and Gardens Ghana Ltd., has urged Ghanaians to take sports seriously and invest in human resources while creating opportunities through recreational activities.
Caves and Gardens (Gh) Ltd. is one of the major distributors of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in Ghana and across West Africa.
The distributor of Chateaux Aromatic Wine will support the Ghana Tug of War Association (GHATOWA) to organise the 2026 Ga Homowo Tug of War Competition.
The event will take place at the Bishop Boys School Park at Bubuashie in Accra on August 25, 2026.
Participants will include churches, market women, students, security services, fun clubs, kayayei, bodybuilders, powerlifters and other tug-of-war enthusiasts.
The keen sports enthusiast prayed for a successful competition and promised attractive prizes for winners and the most exciting pullers.
Mr. Singh, who has been supporting lesser-financed and lesser-known sports for the past 10 years, believes the future is always bright. He said his continued support for such sporting disciplines is driven by his desire to promote love, unity and peaceful coexistence.
The President of the Ghana Tug of War Association, Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, commended Mr. Singh for his wonderful support and promised to take tug of war to a higher level.
He said Ghanaians now have the opportunity to represent the nation at international competitions, which offer avenues for cultural exchange, business opportunities and tourism promotion.
Mr. Williams stated that the Tug of War Championship is open to everyone and that entry is free.
