God-Consciousness
“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” Psalms 16:8
The Psalmist demonstrates for us what it means to live with a God-conscious attitude. He had set God always before him.
This means placing God at the centre of our thinking, decisions, desires, and conduct at all times. God is always before us, and our eyes are fixed on Him.
When we set God before us, we can trust His guidance and direction in all our endeavours. Having God before us means allowing Him to direct our paths and lead us in godly ways.
God is also beside us. He is at our right hand – the place of authority, strength, and honour. This means that God walks beside us to strengthen and uphold us.
The presence of God does not absolve us from difficulties. However, His presence with us strengthens us to stand firm through the storms and battles of life.
When we always set God before us, He guides us in all our ways. When He is beside us, He strengthens us.
A God-conscious life is a life that is continually guided, strengthened, and empowered for victory. Shalom.
