OmniBSIC Bank has held the 11th edition of its flagship Health Walk, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, strengthening customer relationships and creating opportunities for business engagement.
Held at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, the event brought together the Bank’s staff, customers, corporate partners, families and members of the public for a 12 kilometre walk, followed by recreational activities, live music and an expanded vendor fair.
Chairperson of the Health Walk Committee, Akyaa Afreh Arhin Addo-Kufuor, said the event had developed into a regular fixture on Accra’s social calendar through consistency and continuous improvement.
“This has now become part of Accra’s calendar. People look forward to it and come when we call them. What makes this special is that we are not just maintaining what we built; we keep getting better. Sustaining an initiative of this nature requires commitment, and we work as hard today as we did for the very first edition,” she said.
The latest edition featured a streamlined, one-way route covering 12 kilometres, with the Bank continuing its practice of varying routes across editions to extend the walk’s reach and engage communities across the city.
The post-walk activities at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium featured branded pavilions, interactive booths, games and entertainment, alongside a vendor fair that provided businesses with an opportunity to showcase their products and services to participants.
Corporate partners included Sunu Assurance, Blue Skies, Star Assurance, X Mineral Water, Kasapreko Company Limited and Papaye Fast Foods. The fair also attracted businesses from emerging sectors, including electric mobility, reflecting the event’s expanding scope as a platform for commercial engagement.
Nicholas Kotei, a member of the sales team at electric vehicle company EV Afriq, said the event provided an opportunity to introduce electric vehicles to a broad audience and address questions about their operating costs and suitability for the Ghanaian market.
He noted that participants’ responses had been encouraging, particularly as they learned more about the potential cost advantages of electric vehicles compared with conventional alternatives.

Florence Amihere, an OmniBSIC Bank customer, said her family looks forward to the Health Walk as an opportunity to exercise, bond and take a break from their usual routines. She added that the vendor fair and recreational activities at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium make the event even more appealing, offering a one-stop experience where they can shop, explore products and enjoy the lively atmosphere while spending quality time together.
“It has become something we genuinely look forward to as a family. The children and adults all have something to enjoy, and it is nice to be able to spend a morning together while doing something healthy. We also get to browse the vendors’ products and make a few purchases before heading home. It makes the whole outing worthwhile,” she said.
Head of Corporate Communications at OmniBSIC Bank, Justin Carl Arhin, said the Health Walk reflected the Bank’s commitment to delivering experiences that extend beyond conventional banking services.
“Our tagline is ‘Not Just Another Bank’, and that means every experience we create must reflect our commitment to doing things differently. The Health Walk has provided a platform for wellness, networking and commercial engagement, bringing our customers, partners and the wider public together in a shared experience,” he said.
He added that the Bank intended to build on the event’s growth in subsequent editions by broadening exhibitor participation, strengthening networking opportunities and introducing more activities for participants.
The Health Walk was established as a staff wellness initiative in response to concerns about sedentary lifestyles and related health risks. It has since expanded to include customers and the general public, with wellness, community engagement and business participation forming central elements of the programme.
Through this event, OmniBSIC Bank continues to promote active living while providing a platform for customer engagement, corporate collaboration and enterprise visibility.
