Creative Business Academy for Africa (CBA for Africa) has officially unveiled Nigerian singer-songwriter and guitarist Emmi Edwin as part of its 2026 Talent Development Programme, marking an important milestone in the emerging artist’s musical journey.
Emmi, who hails from Akwa Ibom State and is currently based in Port Harcourt, is developing a distinctive sound influenced by Afro-Soul, Neo-Soul and acoustic music. Her artistry combines warm vocals, guitar-led arrangements and emotionally honest songwriting.
Emmi Edwin’s Musical Journey
Emmi’s musical foundation began in the church choir, where she developed an understanding of melody and harmony. Over time, the guitar became central to her creative process, shaping both her songwriting and performance style.
Her music reflects personal experiences and explores themes including love, healing, family, loneliness, courage and personal growth. Through her storytelling, she aims to create songs that listeners can connect with on an emotional level.
Drawing from her Southern Nigerian heritage and a range of soulful musical influences, Emmi continues to shape an artistic identity built around sincerity, expression and meaningful songwriting.

Her official unveiling places her among the artists participating in the CBA for Africa 2026 Talent Development Programme, which supports artists in their continued development and progression within the music industry.
The initiative provides a platform for participating talents to strengthen their artistic direction and build a better understanding of the professional music landscape.
The programme is delivered in partnership with The Orchard, a global music distribution and artist and label services company.

Looking Ahead to LAVENDER LETTERS
Beyond her participation in the programme, Emmi Edwin is preparing to introduce her forthcoming EP, LAVENDER LETTERS.
The project represents another chapter in her creative journey, bringing together the personal storytelling and soulful influences that shape her music. It also offers listeners an opportunity to experience more of her artistic perspective as she continues to establish herself within Nigeria’s evolving music scene.
With her blend of Afro-Soul, acoustic influences and emotionally driven songwriting, Emmi is building a sound that places personal expression at the centre of her artistry.
