The Archbishop of the Cape Coast Archdiocese, Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle has called on Ghanaians to forgive the late Ghanaian leader every wrong he did while on earth.

Preaching at requiem mass being held in honour of the late Ghanaian leader, the Catholic Bishop said Ghanaians must learn to forgive the man who ruled Ghana for 19 years because he was only an instrument that was used by God to fulfill ‘history’.

“….he was maybe unknowingly an instrument of God and how this omniscient God was using Jerry as one of his instruments to fulfill history with Jerry…,” he said.

To him, forgiving the founder of the NDC his ‘sins’ is one very important.

“Beloved, if there is one legacy of Jerry which we can uphold, let us foremost forgive him for what in our eye and estimation see seemingly excesses in his utterances and doing…,” he said.

The late Ghanaian leader died from COVID-19 before the 2020 elections. A week-long funeral is being organised in his honour with the Mass being the first.
