Customers of MTN Ghana are experiencing difficulties purchasing data bundles due to a technical malfunction that disrupted the service on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

The glitch reportedly occurred during the activation of a newly introduced data promotion, which was set to offer subscribers a 15% bonus on all data purchases starting today.

Unfortunately, the system encountered unexpected issues during the rollout, temporarily halting all data bundle transactions.

In a statement, MTN acknowledged the disruption and apologized for the inconvenience caused.

“We understand how essential data connectivity is to our customers and deeply regret the interruption,” the company said.

Technical teams have since been deployed to address the problem, with efforts ongoing to restore normal operations.

Although no specific timeframe was provided for full service restoration, MTN has assured customers that regular updates will be shared.

The telecom giant expressed gratitude for customers’ patience as it works to resolve the issue.
