The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially endorsed the 6th Inter Tourism Expo Accra (INTTA) and the 24-Hour Africa Tourism, Agribusiness, Digital Sovereignty and AfCFTA Industrial Acceleration Conference & Investment Programme, describing the initiative as a strategic platform that aligns with Ghana’s vision of repositioning the country as a leading tourism, trade and investment destination.
The landmark event, scheduled for 21st–23rd October 2026 at the Ridge Royal Hotel, Cape Coast, Ghana, will bring together more than 300 delegates, including business leaders, investors, government officials, tourism stakeholders and development partners from Ghana, the United States, and other parts of Africa.
In its endorsement letter signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Authority commended Inter Tourism Expo Accra for creating a continental platform that connects tourism development with investment promotion, industrial growth, technology, agribusiness and AfCFTA opportunities.
The GTA stated that the Expo supports Ghana’s national agenda of positioning the country as a 24-hour investment economy by creating opportunities to showcase Ghana’s tourism assets, hospitality sector, cultural heritage, creative industries, destination experiences and investment-ready projects to global markets.
According to the GTA CEO, the collaboration will contribute significantly to increasing tourism arrivals, strengthening destination marketing partnerships, attracting investment into the tourism sector and advancing Ghana’s ambition of becoming one of Africa’s leading tourism and investment destinations.
The Authority further highlighted key areas of collaboration, including business tourism and MICE development, investment promotion through tourism projects and sustainable tourism development through ecotourism, agritourism and community-based tourism initiatives.
The endorsement also recognizes the introduction of Ghana Day at INTTA 2026, which will provide a national showcase of Ghana’s heritage tourism, regional tourism products, creative economy, cultural experiences, hospitality investment opportunities and MICE tourism potential.
INTTA 2026: Beyond Tourism — A New Era of Trade and Investment Integration
Speaking on the vision behind this year’s Expo, Mr. Emmanuel Treku, Convener of Inter Tourism Expo Accra, said the decision to incorporate trade and investment into the platform reflects the need to align tourism development with the government’s broader economic direction of resetting and rebuilding the Ghanaian economy through strategic partnerships, private sector growth and investment attraction.
“Tourism cannot operate in isolation from the wider economy. The future of destination development depends on our ability to connect tourism with trade, investment, agriculture, technology, infrastructure and industrial transformation. INTTA 2026 is designed to create a platform where investors do not only hear about Ghana’s opportunities but experience them first-hand and identify areas where they can partner for sustainable growth,” Mr. Treku stated.
He explained that the inclusion of the 24-Hour Africa Tourism, Investment and Industrial Acceleration Conference is aimed at creating a deal-making environment where investors, government agencies and businesses can explore practical opportunities across Ghana’s economic sectors.
According to Mr. Treku, the Expo represents a shift from traditional tourism exhibitions towards an investment-focused model that promotes Ghana as a destination for business, capital and innovation.
A Unique Investor Experience: Seven-Day Southern to Savannah Investment Field Tour
One of the major highlights of INTTA 2026 is the introduction of a seven-day investment and tourism field expedition across Ghana, designed to take investors and delegates from the Southern part of the country through to the Savannah regions.
The immersive field experience will allow participants to gain first-hand knowledge of Ghana’s investment opportunities, tourism assets, agricultural potential, hospitality development prospects, cultural heritage sites and regional economic corridors.
Mr. Treku noted that the field trip component was created to move beyond conference discussions by allowing investors to physically experience Ghana’s destinations, meet local stakeholders and identify bankable opportunities.
“Investors need to see, feel and understand the opportunities on the ground. This seven-day journey from the coast to the Savannah region will expose participants to the diversity of Ghana’s tourism landscape and investment potential while creating direct connections between communities, businesses and investors,” he added.
Positioning Ghana as Africa’s Next Investment Destination
The 6th edition of Inter Tourism Expo Accra is being organized in collaboration with strategic partners including the US Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pan African Global Trade and Investment Conference, The Kingdom Collective, Jaksally Development Organization, and the Chamber of Cannabis Industry Ghana.
Under the theme, “Positioning Ghana as a 24-Hour Investment Economy,” the Expo seeks to promote Ghana’s readiness for investment by highlighting opportunities in tourism infrastructure, hospitality, agribusiness, digital innovation, creative industries and AfCFTA-driven trade.
The event will feature investment forums, business networking sessions, destination showcases, Ghana Day celebrations, exhibitions and investor engagement programmes aimed at creating long-term partnerships.
With the endorsement of the Ghana Tourism Authority and participation from government, private sector leaders, investors and international partners, INTTA 2026 is expected to become one of Ghana’s most significant platforms for advancing tourism-led economic transformation and investment growth.
Inter Tourism Expo Accra continues to champion the vision of making Ghana not only a preferred tourism destination but also a competitive investment gateway for Africa.
