When God Says Stay
Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. Genesis 26:3
The land where Isaac lived experienced a season of famine. Isaac wanted to relocate to a place with better conditions, but God instructed him to remain where he was and promised to bless him.
Once again, God reveals Himself as the source of every blessing.
The blessings that come from God are connected to our obedience. When everything around Isaac looked bleak and dry, God still instructed him to stay.
When Isaac obeyed, the place of dryness became a place of fruitfulness.
God is able to override the conditions of our environment and bless us beyond what our circumstances can produce.
In the midst of the famine, God blessed Isaac because He had established a covenant with him.
God is able to bless you even when your environment is not conducive to fruitfulness.
When we live in obedience to God’s instructions, we position ourselves to experience His blessings beyond our environment and circumstances.
When God says, “Stay,” it is better to obey, because His blessings are not limited by our environment. Shalom.
Prayer: Pray for a heart that is willing and ready to obey whenever God gives you instructions.
