Exciting Hearts of Oak forward, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh is confident his outfit will defeat sworn rivals Asante Kotoko.

The Phobians will host the Porcupine Warriors in the matchday 31 games of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko go into the match tied on 56 points.

A scoreless stalemate would see Hearts of Oak maintain their lead at the table.

However, Asante Kotoko will leapfrog their rivals with a scoring draw due to the head-to-head record after playing goalless stalemate in the reverse fixture in February.

Speaking ahead of the game after beating Legon Cities, the Ghana U-20 captain expressed optimism about his side picking the three points at the expense of their rivals.

“We are not competing with anyone,” he said after the game.

“We are just taking it match after match so we are waiting and hoping for the best on Sunday too.

Asked if a win is the best, he said, “Sure a win, for sure why?.

Barnieh also credited his improved form to his trainer Samuel Boadu.

The 19-year-old endured a difficult start to the season at the Accra-based giants but has been a key figure for the club in the second round of the season.

Asked about the player giving him the sort of inspiration, he said, “It’s my coach,” he said.

“He always tells me I can do it, those in Europe are not better than me so I should keep on working hard I can do it,” he added.

The Super Clash has been scheduled to kick off at 15:00GMT.
