Galamsey Is A Clear And Present Terrorism; State Of Emergency Is Now Or Never!!!—NPP GERMANY Dares Mahama To Resign
Illegal mining, popularly known as Galamsey, is not just a menace—it is an act of environmental terrorism.
Our rivers are poisoned with mercury, our forests are destroyed, farmlands are rendered useless, and entire communities are left with no clean drinking water.
In the face of this national emergency called Galamsey President John Dramani Mahama has once again shown political cowardice and hypocrisy.
Recently, President Mahama made the shocking declaration that his administration will not rush into declaring a state of emergency in the fight against illegal mining, claiming that such drastic action must be a “last resort.”
This statement alone exposes the double standards and lack of political will that define his leadership.
This is not just hypocrisy—it is a betrayal of Ghana and its people.
How can any serious leader downplay the destruction of major water bodies like the Pra, Ankobra, Birim, and Offin, which millions of Ghanaians depend on?
How can a President fold his arms while fertile lands are poisoned with mercury and cyanide? How can a leader watch silently as the health of future generations is gambled away by the greed of illegal miners—many of them backed by political kingpins and foreign cartels?
The truth is bitter but must be spoken: Mahama has chosen politics over principle.
He is a President who prefers to protect the interests of galamsey barons—many of whom bankroll political campaigns—rather than defend the ordinary Ghanaian farmer, fisherman, or child drinking contaminated water.
Let us not mince words: Mahama’s stance is reckless, selfish, and dangerous. Ghana is on the brink of an irreversible environmental collapse, yet the man entrusted with the nation’s leadership plays games of delay and denial.
If galamsey is terrorism, then John Mahama, by his inaction, has become an accomplice to terrorism against the very nation he swore to protect.
Ghanaians must wake up to this reality. We cannot allow a President who speaks from both sides of his mouth to continue leading this country into ruin.
We cannot accept a leader who pretends to care in opposition but looks the other way in government.
For the sake of Ghana’s survival, John Mahama must resign immediately.
His failure to act decisively against galamsey proves he has lost the moral right and political credibility to lead.
He pretended to be the savior, bashing the ruling government of the day for being weak and complicit. But today, in power, he has suddenly found excuses, claiming his administration “will not rush into declaring a state of emergency.” He dares to suggest that such drastic measures should be “a last resort.”
He championed himself as a supposed defender of the environment, promising decisive action.
But now, when he wields the full powers of the presidency, he sings an entirely different tune—shielding galamsey operators, dragging his feet, and allowing powerful political interests to profit while ordinary Ghanaians suffer.
This is not leadership. This is betrayal.
Mahama’s stance is nothing but a calculated act of hypocrisy.
It demonstrates that his administration is more interested in protecting votes, financiers, and cronies than in protecting our rivers, our lands, and the health of our children.
Galamsey is not an issue to be handled with soft words and endless caution. It is a war, and a war must be fought with urgency, courage, and sacrifice.
The hypocrisy is nauseating.
How can Mahama claim to care about climate change on the international stage, seeking global applause, while refusing to act decisively at home?
How can he talk about youth employment and food security, yet allow the very lands and water bodies that sustain agriculture to be destroyed under his watch?
Enough is enough. Ghana cannot afford another four years of deception and environmental destruction.
If John Mahama refuses to treat galamsey as the national emergency it truly is, then he has no moral right to remain in office. The call for his resignation must now become a national chorus.
Ghanaians deserve a leader who will fight galamsey with fire, not one who hides behind political convenience.
The future of our environment, our farms, our water, and the very survival of generations yet unborn depends on the decisions we make today.
President Mahama has failed this test of leadership. His hypocrisy on galamsey is unforgivable. He must go!!!
Ghana deserves a leader who will declare war on galamsey with the urgency it deserves—not one who makes excuses while our rivers turn brown and our soils become poisoned wastelands.
History will not forgive cowardice. And Ghanaians must not tolerate betrayal.
Ghana’s democracy deserves better.
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana!!!
Long Live Ghana, long live the Elephant Party!!!!
Kukruduuuu Eeeessshiii!!!
