Blessed for Fruitfulness
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28
After God had created humanity, He blessed them.
The first words human beings heard from God were words of blessing – fruitfulness, increase, multiplication, and rulership.
In blessing humanity, God empowered us to be fruitful here on earth. The purpose of our fruitfulness is to care for God’s creation and steward it responsibly.
In addition, God blessed human beings so that we could partner with Him in building upon what He had begun through the creation process.
Therefore, we are blessed to be fruitful and to increase. God has empowered us to be fruitful and to multiply so that His creation may flourish and achieve its full potential.
We are blessed by God to be fruitful. Shalom.
