Thousands of sympathizers from all walks of life journeyed to Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region for the 40th-day Adua (Islamic funeral) of Alhaji Braiman Issifu, the former Chairman of the Chairman Constituency and a founding member of the NDC.

H.E Alhaji Said Sinare, a former commissioner, NDC Zongo President, and current National Vice-Chairman, led a high-powered team of Party veterans to mourn with the family on behalf of former President John Dramani Mahana and the NDC.

In a tribute on his official Facebook page, H.E Alhaji Said Sinare hailed the late Alhaji Braiman Issifu as an exemplary, hardworking, and committed man who paid his dues to his constituency and Ghana.

The late former chairman of the Ashaiman constituency was one of the faces that fought for freedom and the founding of the NDC in the Ashaiman constituency, according to the NDC’s grassroots commandoes.

He stated that his leadership and mentorship resulted in several development initiatives in the Ashaiman constituency and that his death will not prevent the NDC from developing Ashaiman.

The event was also graced by a delegation of the National Chief Imam, and other traditional rulers from various parts of the country.
Other dignitaries at the adua were the former deputy Masloc Boss, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar, the Zongo Caucus Coordinator of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Cole Younger, the member of parliament for Ashaiman constituency, Hon. Ernest Henry Norgbey, the former member of parliament for Ashairman constituency, Hon. Alfred Agbesi,  Branch, constituency, and Regional executives in the Greater Accra Region.

Also in attendance were some Members of Parliament from both leading political parties in the country, political party representatives, and religious leaders.

Adua
The spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, led a congregation of Muslim faithful for a Quranic recitation and supplications (adua) for the soul of the deceased and the bereaved family.
