The Paramount Queen Mother of Denyase, Nana Anima Antwi Konama II, has urged residents to sustain attention to breast health throughout the year, stressing that awareness and screening should continue beyond October.
“October is ending, but breast care continues,” she said during a free breast screening and health education outreach at Denyaseman Senior High School on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The exercise attracted schoolgirls and women from the community, with residents expressing joy and appreciation for the opportunity to access screening within their locality.
Among those who attended was a blind woman whose praise for the Queen Mother offered a particularly moving moment. Having come for screening, she commended Nana Anima Antwi Konama II for demonstrating a commitment to health and development within months of her outdooring in June this year.
Her appreciation echoed the sentiments of other community members, who welcomed the outreach and the Queen Mother’s interest in their wellbeing.
Addressing the students, Nana Anima Antwi Konama II encouraged them to take their education seriously and remain committed to their books. She urged them to approach their studies with discipline and make good use of the opportunity to learn.
She also donated sanitary pads and toothbrushes to the school, supporting the girls’ menstrual and oral hygiene needs alongside the breast health exercise.
The Queen Mother further outlined her ambition to establish a breast care unit within the traditional area and pledged to facilitate efforts to secure modern healthcare centres for its communities.
Several sub-chiefs and queen mothers attended the occasion, joining residents and students in support of the initiative.
